Juan Villegas

Juan Villegas, son of Mexican immigrants, is the first Latino law-enforcement officer to write an educational parenting book for the Latino Community in the United States. He has been in law-enforcement for over 31 years in Southern California and an instructor for the Orange County Bar Foundation ShortStop juvenile crime diversion program. He was an instructor for over 16 years.

In 2009, he published La Vida Tiene Valores (Life Has Values) which addresses three main areas where delinquency originates. In 2014, Life Has Values won first place in the International Latino Book Awards for Best Parenting/Family Book.

Juan has been in an excellent position to learn about many of the problems facing today’s youth as well as the solutions to those problems. Juan has been featured on Noticiero Telemundo, En Contexto, Radio Univision, Orange County Register, Excelsior and many others. For 5 years he hosted a delinquency prevention program on ESNE - International Catholic Radio – Prevenir es major que lamenter con el Oficial Juan Villegas (Better safe than sorry with Officer Juan Villegas).
